When charging lenovo s650 do the phone has to be in on mode? Seem can't charge when phone is off.
Hi, the latest smartphone already have auto cut off while the phone battery fully charge. This is also happen at your Lenovo S650. You are free to choose weather to turn off or turn on while doing charging the battery, but for daily work, there are not wise to turn off the phone while charging because we can not use this phone when turning off. Hi, by default the steps for hard reset Lenovo S650 should be work with hardware button and you will see recovery mode to choose hard reset. Please remember, this step will work without problem if before this steps, the phone still at factory default operating system condition and also without any root or without any custom rom. If the phone stuck in the animation boot, then the phone still not go to recovery mode. Please try to soft reset or reboot your phone by open and remove the battery, after that please try to turn ON and see weather the phone work again or not. Try again to do the hardware button reset.

Hi, the process to hard reset with hardware button should done carefully. Some of user should do several time until the phone can go to recovery mode and choose Wipe data or Clear eMMC. Some user also have to use ADB applications to go to recovery, but using ADB software at our computer need to make the Lenovo S650 USB Debugging active, otherwise the ADB command from computer will not recognize by phone.

Hi, it seems that you have already finish to do hard reset but the problem still happen with boot logo loop. This situations usually happen because the firmware can not load properly, some users also got this problem because they already root their Lenovo S650 and some of them already try the custom ROM. At this situations, some wrong process of doing root or install custom ROM can make the phone broken and can not use anymore. Please optimize upgraded operating system/firmware at your Lenovo S650. If you feel that the phone does not work properly after doing upgrade OS, then you may consider to do hard reset, so new firmware or operating system will run from beginning with factory default applications. Hi, if you have already done hard reset but the problem still happen, then maybe you can try to test your LCD touch screen with application 'touch test' that you can download at Google Play Store. If after doing test with that applications and you find everything work fine with your Lenovo S650 touch screen, then maybe you have downloaded or use any 3th party keyboard. Please try again to do hard reset, and after finish reinstall the operating system and you will need to sign-in again to Google account and other information. Please skip to sign-in to Google account. Just try to type anything with your default virtual keyboard.

Becuase Google have cloud backup, some users will backup automatically to Google server for some of their applications and setting as well. If your applications already get wrong setting, then maybe it will also get backup automatically. Once you are reinstall or hard reset your Lenovo S650 or Android smartphone, then the cloud backup will automatically restore back to you phone, and the same problem may still happen after doing hard reset. Hi, doing upgrade the firmware using OTA is very useful and easy, but unfortunately as far as we know until today, no Android vendor give options to downgrade as easy as upgrade the firmware using OTA as well. This is also happen at Lenovo S650. However, you can try to find some other community web to downgrade the firmware using computer with some tweaking steps, some of them also maybe need you to do root steps first, please do all carefully because some wrong steps can make your Lenovo S650 become stuck.
After doing upgrade with OTA, the file source of firmware or operating system will be change to latest updated one, at your phone will become Kitkat. Therefore, when you do hard reset or reformat, your Lenovo S650 will be reinstall the clean factory default Android Kitkat from your ROM, you can not go to Android Jelly Bean anymore unless you do special steps like what we said before.
