  6. I have Lumia 640, I decided a hard reset. When I initiated the hard reset on the device through the settings menu I received an error message stating that it could not deactivate reset protection, reset protection was turned off for the device, so I went ahead with the hard reset. Unfortunately, the hard reset worked but reset protection is still on and I can’t deactivate it, by signing in with my Microsoft Account or by using the recovery key. When I try to sign in on the device to deactivate Reset Protection I get the same error message as before the hard reset, that there was an error deactivating the reset protection. When I try to use the recovery key, I type it in and hit “next” and the button just goes gray without any indication that anything is happening. I’ve left it in that state for quite some time (minutes, not yet hours) but haven’t seen anything happen. Is there something else that can be done for this phone remotely? Thanks

    • Hi, perhaps this problems happen because security Reset Protection (at Android known as FRP). Your Microsoft Lumia 640 have facility for protect your phone from hard reset by someone without asking you. This situation happen because your phone lost or stolen. We call it Reset Protection from Security menu setting. If you have done with activate Reset Protection, then you will have to use your answer for bypass reset protection recovery key at your Lumia 640 phone.
