Hi, usually the steps at #option 2 above will not work for non standard room or use custom rom. However, you can try one more time to do hard reset your Samsung Galaxy Note 8 with:
Press and Hold together Volume Up Button + Home Key Button + Power Button for several seconds.

Hi, my samsung gt n5100 is around 3yrs old. Recently, i charged it while turned off. When i turned it on, the applications had their own reset to factory settings. My data/cache from all of my apps the before have been erased. Now, it doesnt even let me use the stylus pen, or open the gallery, or open the play store! It's actually useless now. It reboots by itself. It hangs when i try to open an app(that can be opened, ex. Youtube and message). It always displays "app" stopped responding and worse, process.media (etc) has stopped. It has done this before so i sent it under warranty to the samsung tech and got it back 2 months after on its first year with me. But now, it's been 2 years after(and not under warranty anymore) and it suddenly went crazy after charging! I asked a tech guy and he said to reprogram it. I am not sure if i should believe him. Please help!

Hi, there are some options to backup. First you should try to use USB Flash Drive and backup all important data manually at Samsung Galaxy Note N5100. The other options is backup important files and microSd External card. For contact, by default it is automatically backup to Google server, please check at https://contacts.google.com/.
