Hardware Button Combination For Reset Xiaomi Android Smartphone Device
To reset a Xiaomi device using hardware buttons, we can follow these general steps:
- Please power off Xiaomi Android device completely. If it’s unresponsive or can not go to menu then you may need to hold down the power button for several seconds until it shuts down.
- After device is powered off, please press hardware combination buttons to enter the recovery mode. Please note, the button combination can vary depending our Xiaomi device. However, most of them work by press & holding a combination of the volume up + power buttons simultaneously.
- When Xiaomi device powered off, please press and hold the designated combination buttons until the Xiaomi logo or the recovery mode screen appears. Then we can release the buttons.
- In the recovery mode menu, we can navigate through the options using the volume up + down buttons, and use power button to select an option.
- Try to find something like to “Wipe data/factory reset” or “Factory reset” in the recovery mode menu. This word maybe different for some models and some other kind of MIUI version.
- Please choose the “Wipe data/factory reset” option, and confirm our selection. Please be careful, this process will erase all user data and settings on our Xiaomi device, this phone will return to factory default like new.
- When the reset process is complete, we can reboot our Xiaomi device by selecting the “Reboot system now” or similar word from the recovery mode menu.
It is very important to try backup all important data before performing backup, because performing a factory reset will erase all data on our Xiaomi device. There are some product model and MIUI version that may not work with this process, but mostly some users can solve Xiaomi issues with above steps.
